The present volume follows, with help of new fundamental critic and documentary acquisitions the activity of Giordano  from the beginning until 1664, clearing finally the study from numerous misunderstanding which have conditioned the evaluation of the style and artistic personality of young painter, up to now, based on the Vita of Bernardo De Dominici.

The corpus of the young Giordano, enriched in the present publication of unknown works, documents and photographs nearly all in colour, has been the object of new stylistic an iconographic analysis from the two authors.
